That Upcoming Fairy Tale Film

The fairy tale adaptation is vogue right now.

Emma Watson is set to play Beauty in Guillermo Del Torro's take on Beauty and the Beast, as officially announced earlier this week.

There are three productions of Snow White in the works right now. One from from Universal Pictures titled "Snow White and the Hunsman" with Kristen Stewart playing Snow opposite Viggo Mortensen as Eric, the Huntsman. It's set to come out June 1, 2012.

Relativity Media's Snow White will come out two months earlier on March 16, 2012. It recently cast Sean Bean to play the role of the King. Relativity's take seems lighter than Universal's, referring to the film as "a spirited adventure comedy filled with jealousy, romance, and betrayal..."

Disney's kung-foo infused version of Snow white, "Snow and The Seven," will not be out till 2013. No word if it will have a star from Lord of the Rings, but it'd be fun if it did.

Red Riding Hood came out in March of this year to a rough reception. Beastly (coming out only one week before) also did poorly, pulling even less in box office sales. Given these failures, one has to wonder why these various take on fairy tales keep coming.

Go, Go, Power Rangers!

At the age of six I would strike heroic martial arts poses for any picture I could get away with. Was I inspired by the not too long past Karate Kid or the Chuck Norris films I would sneakily watch from around the corner when my dad had them on? No, it was all thanks to Power Rangers.

I had no idea that PR was originally a decades old product of Japan localized for kid masses in the US (though I was always bothered by the switching of footage). I did know that the fighting was AWESOME, and my mom was never too sure about me watching the violence (making all that much cooler). The suit were cool, the weapons fund, and the acting was horrible.

Despite the actors being stale to awful, the first time the helmets came off and the audience sees the actors actually in the suits, is one of the most epic childhood tv moments I have.

I played PR in the playing ground until the end of third grade. I lost interested in PR about that time.

OH NOSTALGIA!

While mostly exsits to fangirl, it is also to highlight a video series called History of Power Rangers by Linkara. This is a somewhat analytic look at the different RP seasons from a completely the American view. At lot a research and work when into these making the worth watch to even the merely nostalgic about PR.

Spider-Man And Tumblr

I've been having so much fun on Tumblr. They have everything. There are even Ramen blogs.

I understand why people don't like it. If someone doesn't post a source for their unoriginal content, it is pretty much impossible to find out more. Still, from what I've seen that doesn't happen often. I do stick mostly to the comics related content though.

It was tumblr that tipped me off about the July 23 Auction on ha.com (Heritage Auctions) There will be open bidding on a piece of John Romita artwork featuring Spider-Man and Doctor Octopus in front of the Sanger Harris department store at Town East Mall in Mesquite, Texas. It an indented advertising supplement in the defunct Dallas Times Herald. I do love looking at unpublished art. Visit the Dallas Observer for more on that.

It will be fun to see how much it goes for. Comic book values might surprise some, and everyone loves John Romtia art work on Spider Man.

I was going to do a post for the fourth. I've found some invited fire works photos, but I spent too muc time on other writings. (At least they are patriotic!)

Random Comics: The Family Zoo

Have you ever read something so thoroughly weird that after it was over you weren’t sure what happen? I just found one of these…experiences. It seemed innocuous enough, a story of a family that gets reincarnated as zoo animals.I could deal with the poo-eating joke that were cearly going to happen from pages one, but when we hit interspecial incest my brain hurt too much to keep going. I had to come back anther day. This short is gets high marks for orginality and the timing of the brain destorying turns. That said, this was 22 pages my eyes can’t take back.

I really wish they could.

Here is a snip it. I advise you not to go looking for this one.

The manga has no official English translation, but was brought to the English speaking world by Mangascreener. I find it hard to say thank you…

The things I Learn from a PS3

In the nuclear apocalypse not much survives. Humans must salvage whatever they can to build a life in the Wasteland. Fear not though, for even in the wake of a nuclear fallout hair gel still remains for the bad guys to make their mohawks nice and pointy.

Fallout 3 told me so.

I was given a PS3 for Christmas, so after I finished Final Fantasy 13 I began Fallout 3. It is a fantasic, addicting game. However, after 8000 kb in file size it game begins to jam up. D=

In order to keep playing (and have my PS3 operate correctly), I must safe reset to get rid of the corrupted data. Stupid lazy port from the XBOX…It should speak for the greatness for the game that I have played it enough after that point to get to lvl 30 with good karma. (Gotta get these all important trophies, you know.) I already bought New Vegas before I found out about this chiric problem in Fall out PS3 games, so I will try and play that.

Still, take note of Bestaworks FAIL. They still don’t have patches out for either of these games…[EDIT: They do have a patch out for New Vegas, but it apparently isn’t a complete fix all]

Bemoaning aside my searching for answer lead me to some very cool finds! See Fallout Photo Love

In other news, Plants vs Zombies might be the greatest game ever.
